Pull a Pine
Get ready for a wonderful festive day in nature!
This year’s Pull a Pine will be held on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd December with live music, crafts, local trade stands and mulled cider.
Whether finding your perfect, (or not-so-perfect!) Christmas tree or gathering foliage for festive decorations, what better way to decorate your home than with locally sourced natural foliage that also helps regenerate this rare habitat. Your ticket allows you to take home as many pine trees as you can fit in your car!
Heathland is a semi-natural habitat that can quickly revert to scrub and woodland, losing rare species adapted to the open landscape. Invasive pine trees, planted in forestry plantations, have taken over some of our heathland. By removing pines, we can help save some of our rare heathland species.
Conserving the heathland and taking home your own Christmas tree – it’s a win-win!
