Be the Future of Nature’s Recovery in Dorset & Beyond

Nov 22, 2025

We were delighted to be invited by British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) to an inspiring day at Bournemouth University today.

‘Be the Future of Nature’s Recovery in Dorset & Beyond’ was a free BTO, BTO Youth, and Bournemouth University conference which hoped to inspire and empower the next generation to get involved with local conservation and be a part of nature’s recovery.

Featuring talks from keynote speakers including Megan McCubbin, Paul Morton from Birds of Poole Harbour, Katiana Saleiko from Forestry England and Daisy Meadowcroft from Dorset Wildlife Trust, it was the perfect opportunity to learn more about working in this sector.

We joined stallholders from National Trust Purbeck Countryside, Birds of BARI, Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, Birds of Poole Harbour, BCP Council, and others. Plus, our very own Campaigns Officer was asked to be a mentor to talk about her own career path and to answer questions from the delegates.

A great day, packed with insight, advice and networking. We look forward to the next one!
