Family Scrub Bashing
Scrub – such as gorse – is vital for the wildlife in our heathlands, but if left unmanaged it can smother and cause problems for other plants, shrubs, and trees, as well as posing as a fire hazard as it can burn very quickly.
Durlston County Park & National Nature Reserve are inviting you to get hands on and help a variety of natural habitats and wildlife to thrive by taking part in some scrub bashing. The rangers will provide training as the event does include tools such as secateurs, loppers, hand saws, and shears.
Volunteers are to meet at the Learning Centre at the upper part of the car park at 10am. The event is free, but spaces are limited, so booking is required.
