Nature Tots

Jan 30, 2022

Our education officer, Sarah has been enjoying the seasons with her regular Nature Tots group.

“I love the seasonal changes of our climate and this week has been a particular treat with cold, bright, anticyclonic weather, great for getting outside with children. Our Early Years groups have embraced the chill, jumping in icy puddles, spotting over wintering birds and hunting for the otter down at the Kingfisher Barn. Learning to observe and find joy in the natural world is a great way to connect even the very young to nature so that they respect and protect it as they grow, particularly rare habitats such as the heath. Just recently they have been learning about birds and loved a messy craft, making their own bird feeders ready for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch”.

‘Thank you for being awesome!!!  Otis and Mama love coming to nature tots, it’s great to see how passionate you are about nature … we love all the songs and signs (makaton) and enjoy the nature walk each week’.
