UHP Snakes in the Heather Volunteering

Snakes in the Heather Funday volunteering

Our Snakes in the Heather Sunday Fundays have been put together for groups of families and friends who want to support local wildlife whilst learning all about it too. They take place on Parley Common in Dorset; a heathland nature reserve which is home to all sorts of wonderful and unique species including reptiles like the smooth snake. The meeting point is the Barrack Road entrance; drive up Barrack Road until you reach the lay by with the ARC gate by the waterfall. Call 07388 948 442 if you cannot spot us.

We will be joining our regular volunteers to help clear invasive pine trees, making a bonfire with the waste trees and stopping half-way for a break which is the chance to learn a few fun facts about the UK’s reptiles.

The activities may be adapted if it is wet or windy. Please dress in layered clothing and bring any extra snacks and drinks you might want with you. Snacks and hot drinks are provided for everyone and tools for the adults only. All ages are welcome; children must be supervised at all times.
