Sarah, our education officer, was invited to speak at a ‘Planet Purbeck‘ event at Godlingston Heath, all about the ‘Peaty Pockets of Purbeck’.
She joined the Dorset Peat Partnership project and researchers from Bournemouth University, who demonstrated how to remove peat cores with some very cool soil sampling equipment!!
Wet heath plays a vital role in fighting global warming and provides part of the mosaic of heath habitats that are so rich in biodiversity.
