The Lost Words trail at Thorncombe

The Lost Words Trail is waiting for families to discover it throughout February at Thorncombe Wood Local Nature Reserve .
The trail is inspired by the book `The Lost Words’ by Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris. The book celebrates, via poems and amazing illustrations, the once-common “nature” words that were dropped from the Oxford Junior Dictionary back in 2007.

So blend some exercise in the great outdoors with words and wonder as you learn new words, remember known words and even find out some old Dorset dialect words.
