Heath Week – heathland walk at Silverlake

This is an opportunity to have an expert guided walk around some of the heathland at the Silverlake estate. During the walk you will stop to ID some of the unique heathland plants and invertebrates, using magnifying observer pots to have a closer look at the insects you find. As well as bird watching and reptile refugia checks (under license).

Everyone is welcome to come along and learn a little bit more about the wonderful world of heathland.

This is a free event, but numbers are limited so please email HFG Ecologist, James Ponting who is leading the walk, at jponting@habitatfirstgroup.com if you wish to attend.

You will be meeting at the Knighton Reserve SANG car park, DT2 8BT.

If you are attending, please also:

Bring binoculars. If you don’t have any, please email James and he will bring spares.

Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, you will be outside for the duration of the walk.

Please wear appropriate footwear, as the ground could be uneven.

Children are welcome.

No dogs please.
