Wardening

Wardens regularly patrol the heaths and attend local events as a point of contact with the public.

Heathland wardens patrol the heaths in conjunction with heathland managers. Wardens work with local communities and partners to promote responsible use of the heathland sites.

Wardens liaise with local Police and Dorset Fire and Rescue Service to mitigate incidents on the heaths.

ABOUT US >

The Partnership's aim is to alleviate urban pressures on the Dorset heaths brought about by new residential development in the area.

This is achieved with a combination of wardening, an inclusive education programme, access management and fire risk assessment and heath management.

There are several strands of monitoring to establish baseline data and to gauge success of work and projects.
